Patricia Young, a local landscape artist, has been making her mark across the Mid-Willamette Valley for decades. Her passion for the outdoors and nature is evident in her work, which includes a sign at Roto-Rooter Park in Keizer, the World Beat Festival logo, and annual artwork during the festival. Young's expertise lies in capturing the local landscape in vivid colors, and her talent is showcased at the Elsinore Gallery in Salem and the River Gallery in Independence. She also teaches Paint & Sip Workshops at Chemeketa Cellars, fostering creativity among beginners. Recently, Young took on a new challenge by creating her first outdoor mural on the wall of Los Dos Amigos Mexican restaurant in Keizer, depicting local landmarks. This project required her to learn new techniques and weather-resistant paints, and she successfully overcame the challenges, receiving positive feedback from residents. Young's dedication to art is further demonstrated by her involvement with the Salem-area nonprofit Artists in Action, where she designed the logo and served on the board. Her latest endeavor involves a 50-foot long mural in Jefferson, commissioned by the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce. Young's journey as an artist, educator, and community contributor is a testament to her passion and dedication to the Mid-Willamette Valley.
